Howdy Ya'll!
Corey and I made it to Texas on Wednesday after 2 very long days of driving. The drive was pretty uneventful. Not much out there between Illinois and Texas. I did get a speeding ticket after driving thru Texas for only an hour. Welcome to Texas!! Lol. Oh well....my very first ticket. Everyone needs one of those right? We have settled into our house pretty nicely. We still have no furniture...that should arrive on Tuesday. So we have been sleeping on an air mattress for about a week. It's getting very old. We met our neighbors who are very nice and about our age, so hopefully we will become pretty good friends. I went to church today and our ward is nice. Everyone, and I mean everyone has kids in that ward. I think Corey and I are the only couple to not have kids. When people came up to introduce themselves, they would ask where I moved from and if I had any children. Does Moose count? ;) But everyone was really nice, so I think I will like it. I had a job interview the other day, but didn't get the job because I am too qualified for the position, so the job hunt continues. It is a lot harder to get a job out here than it was to find one in Illinois. I hope I find one quickly because I am starting to get bored staying at home all the time. But other than that things have been going good out here.

Merry Christmas!
Well, it is a beautiful Christmas day in So Cal. I am so glad to be out here, and not in the snow back in Chicago. Corey and I have had a 4 day Christmas this year. We started Christmas on the 22nd opening our own presents at home before we left for California. On the 23rd, Corey opened up all of his presents from my side of the family because he had to go back to work on Christmas morning. Then, on the 24th we went over to his house and his whole family came over and we opened up presents. And finally, I opened up the rest of my presents this morning. It has been a very nice Christmas. Every year my family makes cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning. My dad has always helped make them with me, but this year I wanted to do it by myself. They didn't turn out quite how I was hoping. They taste the same, and are good, but they didn't rise enough so they are kind of flat. O well, I guess taste is what matters the most right? Corey was able to have a fresh out of the oven cinnamon roll for the first time. I normally take them home with me in a tupperware for him. I wish Corey was still here but I took him to the airport early this morning. I am just glad that he was able to come out at all, even if it was for a short time. I have one more day in Cali, then I fly back to Chicago where it will be crunch time for packing up for the move. Yikes! I try not to think about it. lol. Anyway, pictures from Christmas are to come. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Merry Christmas!

My first blog!
Well, I have been thinking about getting a blog, and have finally decided to do it. I thought it would be a good time since Corey and I are moving to Texas soon. We move in 16 days! Crazy! We are excited but sad to leave Illinois at the same time. We have made a lot of friends out here. But we know that Texas will be great and we are excited to start our new life out there. So, now that I have this blog, you can follow us on our journey of becoming first time home-owners. Should be quite interesting....lol.
